FROM EMPTY BEDROOM TO INTENTIONALLY DESIGNED COSY PLACE
CLIENT BRIEF & REQUIREMENTS
The clients wanted more than just a standard bedroom with a bed, bedside tables, and artwork. Their goal was to create a space where every element felt intentional, cohesive, and calming — a bedroom that felt cozy during the day and atmospheric at night. One of the challenges was the relatively small window, which they felt made the room appear smaller and less inviting, but they did not want to alter the structure of the room itself.
HOW SELEKT DESIGN HELPED
Selekt Design developed a calm neutral palette layered with warm textures, bespoke details, and carefully planned lighting to completely transform the atmosphere of the room. To visually enlarge the window wall and soften the daylight, we introduced full-height blackout curtains paired with sheer satin voile curtains, adding both elegance and a sense of height to the space while concealing the radiator below.
The bed became the focal point through a bespoke upholstered headboard and sculpted illuminated alcove with integrated pendant lighting, while built-in wardrobes beside the bed maximised functionality and storage. To bring warmth and character, we layered carpet with a textured rug and introduced woven wallpaper with subtle nature-inspired imagery, ensuring every wall had purpose, texture, and visual interest rather than simply being painted.
