DESIGNING A BEDROOM TO GROW WITH THE CHILD
CLIENT BRIEF & REQUIREMENTS
The clients had recently moved into their new home and wanted to transform one of the rooms into a beautiful bedroom for their four-year-old daughter. Their goal was to create a space that felt playful and cozy while remaining timeless and future-proof as she grows older. They wanted to maximise storage through bespoke built-in wardrobes and hidden functionality, while avoiding overly bright or childish colour schemes.
HOW SELEKT DESIGN HELPED
Selekt Design created a calm and balanced design centred around a bespoke bed feature wall with a soft arched alcove, layered LED lighting, and upholstered headboard details to make the bed feel like the focal point of the room. We incorporated open shelving for books and toys, concealed wardrobes for long-term storage, and an adjustable desk positioned by the window to maximise natural daylight for studying as the child grows. On the opposite wall, we designed a cozy reading nook with integrated drawers and overhead storage, alongside a hidden pull-out screen and ceiling projector to create movie nights and sleepover experiences as she gets older.
